Sandwich Paradise

Remember how the king looked just before he croaked? His secret weapon to his plumb stature was his many indulgences including the deep fried sandwich named after him. The Elvis sandwich as it eventually became known was Elvis’ favorite treat and it included deep frying a peanut butter sandwich on white bread. For this culinary delight, Elvis liked to replace the more traditional meat patty with sliced banana. To finish it up, the whole two slices of white bread, peanut butter, and banana slices would be pan-fried in melted butter. According to the Presley Family Cookbook (which verifies that this sandwich was indeed enjoyed by the king,) Elvis some times will include bacon in the mix. And that is the Elvis sandwich.
